SAFETY AGREEMENT

I understand that when wildlife learn to use human food sources, they can damage property and may become aggressive. Bears often must be euthanized. We know that only people can prevent problems with wildlife. I commit to doing my part to keep wildlife wild.

I pledge to:

◻ Store all trash in a bear-resistant container or enclosure, correctly storing lids and not over-filling.​

◻ Clean BBQ grills (burn off for 10 minutes after use) or store them inside.

◻ Lock bear-accessible doors and windows in buildings, garages, cars and outbuildings at night and when I leave.

◻ Keep doors closed, even when working, if applicable to task at hand.

◻ Keep food, beverages, coolers, scented toiletries, candles and other attractants out of the sight, smell and reach of bears.

◻ Remove food, trash, air fresheners or scented products in my vehicle.

◻ Share information about bear-proofing with others.

◻ I understand that supplemental feeding of wildlife is illegal in Montana.
